34 Foodservice Equipment & Supplies | The NAFEM Show 2019 Planning Guide How to Rock The NAFEM Show Play Your Cards Handing out business cards and collecting them from others is a big part of the trade show game. Bring an ample supply and don't be shy about passing them out. Make quick notes on the backs of cards you collect to remind yourself later who's who and why you kept their card. Do Your Homework Well before the show, think carefully about your goals and objectives. Consider the specific products and vendors you want to try to see. Use checklists to stay on track at the show. Don't Overschedule Do leave a few unscheduled blocks of time during which you can just walk the show. Since the show only cycles around every other year, there's always a strong focus on new products. Schedule Appointments Don't count on being able to casually stop by a particular booth and get the information or connection you want. Instead, set up meetings with your top vendor targets ahead of time to guarantee access and undivided attention. Book the most critical appointments early or late in the day then plan the rest of your day around them. Map Out Your Strategy Study the exhibitor list and show floor map (both available at thenafemshow.org and on the show's mobile app) and plan your attack.
