Dave Swain Associates Inc., an independent manufacturers' rep firm serving the New England market, cre- ated a new division dedicated to small- wares and tabletop items. The company hired John Minks, a 25-year veteran of the hospitality industry, to lead the sales efforts for its new division. In addition, DSA took on two additional lines: Rosen- thal/Sambonet and Compark Food Safety Instruments. In a deal valued at $10.5 million, multiconcept operator FAT Brands will acquire Homestyle Dining, parent company to Ponderosa Steakhouse and Bonanza restaurant chains. FAT Brands' restaurant portfolio includes Fatburger, Buffalo's Cafe and Buffalo's Express. FAT Brands also plans to develop a fast-casu- al version of the Ponderosa concept. Le Duff America sold its Bruegger's Bagels concept to Caribou Coffee. Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but the transaction was expected to be com- plete by the end of September. Le Duff purchased Bruegger's in 2011. Pan-Asian fast-casual chain Pei Wei Asian Diner announced plans to relocate to the Dallas-Fort Worth area following news that it is in the process of separating from parent company P.F. Chang's China Bistro. National Intergovernmental Purchas- ing Alliance, an education and public sec- tor purchasing cooperative, has formed OMNIA Partners, a shared services and supply chain optimization company dedicated to government, education and the private sector. OMNIA Partners consists of three subsidiaries: National IPA; Prime Advantage, a Chicago-based mid-market manufacturing group pur- chasing organization acquired in June; and Corporate United, a Cleveland-based purchasing organization focused on customers within the Fortune 1000, with whom OMNIA has signed a definitive agreement to acquire. Sterno Products acquired sevenOKs, a La Porte, Ind., manufacturer of insu- lated food carriers and accessories for restaurant delivery, stadium concessions, catering operations, and school nutrition programs. sevenOKs will be renamed Sterno Delivery and is now a wholly owned subsidiary of Sterno Products.
